Pakistan’s support to Kashmir cause appreciated


Srinagar, MTT News Desk: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other liberation leaders have expressed gratitude to the people and Government of Pakistan for observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day to show unity with the Kashmiri people engaged in a just struggle to secure their inalienable right to self-determination.

Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who is also the President of Jammu & Kashmir Tahreek e Hurriyat (TeH), in his message called upon Pakistan to galvanise its efforts to highlight the Kashmir dispute at the global level more vigorously. Syed Ali Shah Geelani also called the international community to force India to give the right of Self-Determination to the people of Jammu & Kashmir according to the resolutions of United Nations Organisation (UNO).

Syed Ali Shah Geelani, whose travel documents are forfeited by the Indian authorities and is under house arrest since long time strongly beleives that the future of Kashmir is not with India but with Pakistan.

Another APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq maintained that Pakistan had always supported the Kashmir cause on moral, political and diplomatic levels and this support had been a source of inspiration for the Kashmiris. He hailed the message of President of Pakistan, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, on the Solidarity Day that the country was firmly committed to finding a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He urged India to reciprocate Pakistans sincere efforts and come forward to settle the dispute, once and for all.

Other senior Hurriyat leaders, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Yasmeen Raja, Zafar Akbar Butt, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Musaddiq Aadil, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Javed Ahmad Mir and Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in their messages maintained that Pakistans unflinching support had been the main motivating force of the Kashmir liberation movement.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah and the High Court Bar Association of the Occupied State of Jammu & Kashmir in their statements condemned the puppet administrations recent decision to prosecute Nayeem Ahmad Khan and other Hurriyat leaders in false cases.

The APHC-AJK at a meeting in Islamabad with its Convenor, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, in the chair, also denounced the action.

On the other hand, Pakistanis living in Britain organized a function in Slough in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day. Addressing on the occasion, the speakers including heads of Kashmir Centres in London and Brussels, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl and Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo said that observance of the Solidarity Day was reiteration of the commitment of the people and government of Pakistan that the Kashmiris were not alone in their just cause.
