APHC concerned about killing of youth by Sarpanch

Srinagar, MTT News Desk: In Occupied State of Jammu & Kashmir (OSJK), the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani has expressed deep sorrow and shock over the brutal killing of a 22-year-old youth by a sarpanch at Sumbal in Bandipore.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Omer Abdullahl led Indian puppet administration is promoting hooliganism under the garb of Panchayati Raj.

APHC demanded impartial investigations into the killing of the youth and stern action against the culprit.

The statement said that almost all the panchs and sarpanchs behaved like renegades of yesteryears and had resorted to extortion.

APHC expressed concern over the sinister plan of the forces to exploit panchs and sarpanchs and use their services against ongoing liberation movement.

They are being called in camps and the way they are encouraged has escalated the sense of panic among the common people and with the gruesome killing of a youth by sarpanch has worsened the already troubled situation, the spokesman added.

The spokesman added that in order to muzzle the voice of people, they are bent upon creating uncertainty in Kashmir.

In the meanwhile India has ruled out immediate talks between the foreign ministers of Pakistan and India to ease tension along the Cease Fire Line (CFL) as proposed by Pakistani Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar.

A day after Hina Rabbani Khar offered to hold “discussion and dialogue” to ease tensions between the two countries along the LoC, Salman Khurshid said in New Delhi that direct talks between ministers do not happen in a rush.

On future course of action by India, Khurshid said, “Let us not rush into the matter and (let us) move step by step.”
