India wants status quo over Kishmir, says Geelani

Srinagar, MTT News Desk: In Occupied State of Jammu & Kashmir (OSJK), the chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Shah Geelani has criticised India saying that New Delhi wants to maintain status quo over the Kashmir issue.

Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who is also the President of Jammu & Kashmir Tahreek e Hurriyat (TeH), in a statement issued in Srinagar said, India never wants a prosperous and stable Pakistan and is attempting to destabilize it.

The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani emphasised that a stable Pakistan stands a guarantee for the resolution of Kashmir dispute and urged all patriotic forces in Pakistan to understand the need of the hour and observe wisdom.

Geelani advised the Indian authorities not to be part of any sort of expedition aimed to destabilize the country.

Geelani said, Though we are not directly related with the politics of Pakistan but as a matter of fact the prevailing situation in the country has direct impact over the Kashmir dispute and India would try to take advantage from it.

Syed Ali Shah Geelani reiterated that everybody had a right to expression and was free to address gatherings and organize the processions but peace, welfare and stability of the country deserves top priority.

In the meanwhile, three persons including one in suspicious circumstances died across the Kashmir valley.

A trawler conductor died in a suspicious circumstance inside the trawler near Srinagar-Jammu Highway Levdoora Qazigund in Kulgam when the trawler was moving from Srinagar to Jammu.

One, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat (36) died when he was hit by a shooting stone in a stone quarry at Malpora, Sumbal in Bandipora and Mohammad Rajab Dar (55) died after falling from the rooftop of a parked vehicle at General Bus Stand in Islamabad.
