Geelani: Kashmir is internationally recognised dispute

Srinagar, MTT News Desk: In Occupied State of Jammu & Kashmir (OSJK), the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Shah Geelani has said that the Kashmir is an internationally recognised disputed territory and needs resolution in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people.

The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani in a statement issued in Srinagar said more than 18 resolutions in UN stand that Kashmir is a dispute and its people yet to decide about their political future.

He said that over 600,000 Kashmiri people had laid their lives for the Kashmir cause and they would continue to impress the quarters concerned to resolve the dispute as per the UN resolutions and as per aspirations of the Kashmiris.

It is better for New Delhi to come on table and resolve the dispute. We favour tripartite talks between India, Pakistan and the genuine representatives of the people of Kashmir, he maintained.

In the meanwhile, the scores of people held forceful protest demonstrations against Indian state terrorism at Taratpora in Handwara.

People took to the streets when Indian troops beat up and injured civilians without any provocation in the area.

In another incident, unknown gunmen beat up and injured one Shabbir Ahmad Sheikh in Tral.

Meanwhile, Indian troops during massive operations arrested five youth from Lolab.
